Advantage® Chat Server - FAQs


Q. Does the Advantage® Chat Server support standard Internet chat commands?

A. Familiar chat commands let users register, create a channel, list users on channels and easily participate in conversations.


Q. Can users chat on more than one channel at the same time?

A. Each user can chat on several channels at once; messages from different channels will not overwrite each other.


Q. What is “Whisper Mode;”” Quiet Mode”?

A. In whisper mode, users can post one-to-one messages within a channel, which are not visible to the rest of the chat group. In quiet mode, users can tell the service to stop transmissions without losing channel membership or turning off the phone.


Q. What is “Mobility Management”?

A. Absent subscribers can stop receiving messages once the phone is turned off and restart message receipt when the phone is switched on.
